When Going to the Nail Salon Becomes Problematic
When you go to the nail salon, you want to be pampered and enjoy your time. The last thing that you need is to come away with an infection, but often this occurs when proper disinfecting and sanitizing steps are skipped.
Pedicure Pitfalls
Fungus––this can happen when the salon fails to clean the foot tub. Your nails can turn yellow, brittle, and develop a foul smell. Make sure your salon uses disposable liners to keep your feet protected.
Warts–-these occur commonly on the feet and can happen after shared tools are not properly disinfected. Pumice stones are a prime culprit.
Infections—shave your legs after a pedicure and not before. Small cuts or nicks from shaving put you at risk of infection. If you have diabetes, never let your infections or cuts go without treatment. The minor injury could lead to sepsis and infection, which can be fatal.
