Don’t Let Running Cause You Pain

Running is a great activity to improve your health, but it can also damage your feet unless you take preventive steps. Luckily for runners, there are simple tips that you can use to keep yourself in great form.

Tips to Prevent Harm to Your Feet

Wear the proper shoes

Wearing running shoes helps prevent pain, rubbing, blisters, and absorbs shock. Running shoes also provide additional cushioning to give you stability and support. Don’t use a shoe that is made for other sports when you are a runner. They don’t have the same features and can cause problems for your feet.

Stretching comes first

Before attempt to run, you should stretch so that you can avoid strain on your legs and feet. Walk for ten to fifteen minutes before running, and you will ensure that you don’t sprain your ankle or cause long-lasting injuries.

Know your limits

One of the most common issues that runners face is pushing too hard, too fast. If you go beyond your limits, your only reward will be sore feet, ankles, and a bad case of tendonitis.

Alternating running and walking will help

Most runners make the mistake of running the entire session and never stopping to walk. Instead of following that trend, walk in between running. It lessens the amount of pressure and impact on your feet.

Running can be painful, but it need not be. A podiatrist can give you the ability to run comfortably while showing you helpful solutions to ensure that your feet are kept safe and healthy.
